Lithuania is situated on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. It is the southernmost of the three Baltic countries. The country borders Latvia in the north, the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation and Poland in the southwest, and Belarus in the southwest and east. Lithuania is famous because of the fact that geometrical center of Europe is situated in eastern part of the country near the village of Bernotai, north of Vilnius. The landscape is preferably represented by lowland plains and hilly uplands. Main rivers of the country are the Nemunas and the Neris. Lithuania has a continental climate with not very hot summers and rather cold winters.
